1. What this page covers

These Game Rules explain how the free Daily Quiz, Duels, scoring, and leaderboards work inside KnoBall.

2. Who can play

Anyone 13+ can play the Daily Quiz and CPU Duels. Tap Play now to try the App without registering (guest mode). Guest scores are practice-only on that device and do not appear on leaderboards.

To appear on Today or This Week leaderboards, save streaks across devices, duel friends, and use a public username, create a free registered account subject to our Terms of Use.

3. Daily Quiz schedule

Each Eastern Time calendar day has its own authored Daily Quiz set. A new set becomes available at 9:30 AM Eastern Time and stays playable until midnight Eastern Time that same day. From midnight until the next 9:30 AM Eastern drop, the live quiz is closed; the App tells you to come back at 9:30 AM EST (Eastern Time).

Registered accounts: you can complete today’s quiz once per Eastern Time calendar day; your score counts toward Today and (on NFL weekdays) This Week, and updates your streak as described below.

Guest play (Play now): you may also complete today’s quiz once per day on that device without an account. Guest results are stored locally, do not post to leaderboards, and do not update server-side streaks. Create an account to compete on the boards.

Monday–Friday quizzes are NFL trivia and count toward Today and This Week for registered accounts. Saturday–Sunday quizzes are College Football trivia: they appear on Today and keep your day streak going for registered accounts, but they do not add to This Week. If you allow notifications, we may notify you when the Daily Quiz goes live.

4. Scoring

The Daily Quiz has 10 questions. Each correct answer is worth 10 question points (100 maximum from questions). A miss or timeout is worth 0 question points for that question. Every question counts the same; difficulty does not change the point value. Speed is a separate score out of 10: each correct answer is worth up to 1.0 based on how fast you answered (instant is 1.0, using the full 10 seconds is 0). A miss earns 0 speed. Ten instant correct answers is 10/10 speed. Combined total is questions plus speed (110 maximum). Today and This Week boards use this combined total. A 10/10 (at least 100) always outranks a 9/10 (at most 99). Among players with the same total, the faster overall clock time ranks higher. The App may also show a speed rank among players who got the same number of questions correct that day; that comparison does not change the 110 total. There is no randomness in scoring. KnoBall may update these Game Rules with notice in the App.

5. Live quiz day vs archive

During the live quiz day, correct answers and full explanations are not shown so the board stays fair. After you submit, you cannot review that day’s questions in the free live experience. Answers unlock in the Pro quiz archive when the next Daily Quiz drops (9:30 AM Eastern), not at midnight. Midnight only ends the live play window for that day’s quiz.

6. Today, This Week, and streaks

Today ranks registered players who completed that day’s Daily Quiz, using that day’s combined total (questions plus speed, 110 maximum). Guest scores are not included. This Week adds each Monday–Friday NFL Daily Quiz combined total for the current week and closes Friday 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Saturday–Sunday College Football quizzes do not add to This Week; finishing them still counts toward your consecutive-day streak for registered accounts. Rankings sync when a registered player finishes a quiz and may take a short time to update.

7. Duels

Duels are head-to-head trivia matches against the CPU or friends. Free accounts get a limited number of new duel lives per Eastern Time day (currently 5). Starting a new duel (CPU or friend) uses one life. Continuing an unfinished match does not use another life. Lives reset at midnight Eastern. KnoBall Pro unlocks unlimited duel lives.

Active matches stay in your Active list until the match is finished (someone claims enough crowns), a player forfeits, or a player misses their turn for 24 hours (the waiting opponent wins and the match leaves Active). Unaccepted friend challenges may also expire if not accepted in time. Unfinished matches tied to your account sync when you sign in on another device; logging out alone does not erase unfinished matches that are still within the turn window.

On Duel questions, tapping an answer choice is your final answer (there is no separate Submit button). Free accounts may see an interstitial ad after a miss when they continue.

Winning crown charge: correct wheel answers fill crown charge (three charges open a crown conquest attempt). Claiming enough category crowns wins the match, as shown in the App.

Optional duel powerups (bought with coins or bundles; limited uses per match as shown in the App):
• Extra Time — adds exactly five seconds to the time remaining on the current duel question.
• 50/50 — removes two incorrect answers so two choices remain until you tap your final answer. It does not auto-clear the question.
• Skip — skips the current duel question and counts it as correct, including crown-charge credit, then advances you.

Coins and powerups do not change Daily Quiz scoring or Daily Quiz leaderboard standing.

8. Purchases and Pro

You do not need to buy anything to play the Daily Quiz or CPU Duels. Guest play is free without an account. A registered account is free and required only to appear on leaderboards and use friend features. Coins and powerups are optional duel helpers. KnoBall Pro is optional and does not buy a higher Daily Quiz score; it currently includes no ads, unlimited duel lives, and the Daily Quiz archive.

9. Fair play

Cheating, exploiting bugs, multi-accounting to manipulate boards, or harassing other players may result in removed scores, resets, or account suspension under our Terms of Use.

10. Changes

We may update these Game Rules as features evolve. Continued use of the Daily Quiz and Duels means you accept the current rules posted in the App and at https://knoball-legal.web.app/rules.
